As your day comes to a close, your guests are having a great time catching up with each other; you however are about to leave with your new husband (it will take a while to become used to calling him this) to start your honeymoon.  It has been a great day; a new life with each other is beginning.

Arriving home after the honeymoon, your love flourishing, it has been a fantastic time with each other, wishing it never had to end.  Wedding rings are now part of your day, he keeps playing with his, he will take a while to become use to wearing it, or may never do so, a lot of guys will fiddle with their wedding ring, taking it off and placing it from one finger to the next, to the next, spinning it on tables… it is just what we do.  Your gifts are stacked on the table at home; these eventually blend around your home; over time the question arises, did we purchase that or who gave it to us?

With the wedding now over you can not wait to see your photos and remember details of your day.  As your photos arrive you race to look at them, the memories you see are full of vibrance, they are colourful and take you straight back to your day, you are there right now (wow I didn’t remember that, oh I certainly remember that…).  There are pictures of you before getting dressed, having makeup and hair done, to the girlfriends laughing at something, what was that?  To what jewellery and flowers you had, and those shoes with such magnificent heals.

There are photos of your husband; they bring back memories of your eyes meeting each other, the look on his face as you walk towards him, one seemingly long step at a time.  He can not believe what you are wearing, you look fantastic, he clambers to contain his emotions, you have his entire focus, there is no remote control in his hand, there is nothing else that matters today, this day his eyes do not move from yours, this is my bride, this is my wife, a day we have planned for so long, she is beautiful…

You will see photos documenting your day from the beginning right through to the reception, cake cutting and dance.  Now talking about the cake, what if anything is left of it?  Though more than likely it has gone by now.  Will you remember what the cake looked like in a year or two, how about fifteen or 50 years from now, and we both know your children will want to see your wedding day, as will your grandchildren, that is for sure.
